Terms & Conditions

Last updated 26 April 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Rent-a-Skip.co.uk website (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. The Site is operated by Rent-a-Skip.co.uk and connects visitors to vetted local skip-hire operators (each, an "Operator") covering their postcode. Rent-a-Skip.co.uk is a referrer; the contract for a specific skip-hire booking is between you and the Operator who fulfils the job.

About this service

Rent-a-Skip.co.uk routes enquiries to local skip-hire Operators. Pricing, availability, delivery windows, permits and waste-handling for each booking are set and fulfilled by the Operator covering your postcode.

Where prices are quoted on the Site they are indicative ranges sourced from public price guides and may differ from the final price the Operator quotes you on the call. Always confirm your final price with the Operator before booking.

Booking a skip

A booking is formed when you and the Operator agree on size, delivery window, price and any permit requirements over the phone. The Operator will set out their own deposit, payment and cancellation terms at that point.

You are responsible for telling the Operator about access constraints (low cabling, narrow lanes, weight limits, gated estates), restrictions on what the skip can hold, and whether the skip will sit on private land or a public road.

Permits and placement

If your skip will sit on a public road, a permit is required from the local council. Where you book through an Operator, the Operator typically arranges the permit on your behalf and the council fee is added to your invoice; the Operator is responsible for ensuring the permit is in place before delivery.

Skips on private driveways or land do not require a permit. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to place a skip on the land where it's delivered.

What you can and can't put in a skip

Skip waste is regulated under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Hazardous Waste Regulations. Items you must not place in any skip include:

  • Asbestos in any form
  • Tyres, batteries, fluorescent tubes and gas bottles
  • Fridges, freezers and other appliances containing refrigerants
  • Paint, solvents, oils and any liquid chemicals
  • Clinical, medical or hazardous waste
  • Plasterboard or gypsum (most Operators ask for this in a separate skip)

Pricing and quotes

Prices shown on the Site (e.g. "from £X" copy on town pages) are indicative low-end ranges aggregated from public Operator price guides. Final pricing is confirmed by the Operator on the call.

Where the Site mentions VAT inclusion or exclusion, the displayed status is the most common pattern in the postcode area at the time of last refresh; the Operator will confirm the exact VAT treatment of your specific booking.

Liability

Rent-a-Skip.co.uk acts as an introducer between you and the Operator. We are not party to the booking contract. The Operator is responsible for delivering, collecting and disposing of skip waste in line with their own terms and applicable regulations.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation).
